October to May - the main season
- Calm, clear lagoons - the best time for snorkelling, scuba diving and kayaking.
- Mostly dry, sunny days with light breezes.
- December to February is the most pleasant and the busiest; book flights and stays early.
- March to May gets hotter, but the water is often at its clearest.
June to September - monsoon
- Heavy rain and strong winds; the sea can be rough.
- Ships may be reduced or cancelled, and many water sports and dive centres pause.
- Flights to Agatti usually continue, but weather delays are more likely.
- Quieter islands and green scenery if you only want to relax.
